Theme of Power in Coriolanus

“Coriolanus” is a political play written by the late famous English poet William Shakespeare. The main focus of this play is based on a brave, strong selfish warrior named Coriolanus. Characterisation of Coriolanus in Act 1

In Shakespeare’s play “Coriolanus,” we are introduced to the main character, a man named Martius, a great warrior of the Roman Republic, a man who has a lot of pride and courage. He is a humble person who does not desire acclaims for his accomplishments. It is known that he is very ignorant and has little patience and has no intention to help the ordinary people (lower class) although they may benefit him in the later future, he relies on his physical strengths that are shown in a battle to prove how dominant he is. In this Act, we aware with his rivalry with Aufidus; We are aware that Coriolanus is more of a military leader than a government leader since we can see that he does not know how to handle the people nor have any sort of connection with them whatsoever, and that big pride he carries, onl...

TOK - Natural Sciences and its links to Personal Knowledge

I was never really a fan of science growing up. But, when I think of natural sciences, I think of the world we live in and humans. As I mentioned earlier, I am not a fan of science, and I have not a lot of interest towards subjects like Chemistry, Physics, and Biology, but I do know the obvious basics of these subjects and simple key terms. I firmly believe that having knowledge of natural science makes you understand the world we live in, as well as yourself, well, in a way; And plus, its common sense that natural sciences give us valuable knowledge towards our world. Technology has changed our world in every way possible, and using technology has become an everyday habit for most of us. It is our way of communicating, researching and sharing our opinions and knowledge of what we know. As an IBDP student, I am required to take a Group 4 subject, so I decided to take Design Technology (DT) as my science since it interested me and made me understand more on the science behind pro...
