Language as a WOK - TOK

What would be the advantages and disadvantages of everyone in the world spoke a common language? What would be gained and what would be lost?
First of all, it was actually predicted that people would all speak one language in the future. This would take place in a Utopia and “Old” languages would eventually die out and become history. Like everything in life, there is a positive and negative point. If the world as we know it and it’s people spoke only one language, it would be a good thing because it would be easier for us to communicate with others across the globe. Also, it would get rid of the language barrier so we wouldn’t have to spend so much time learning a foreign language to be able to communicate with another person . Instead, we could spend that time collaborating with each other, learn new ideas and think of ways to make our world a better place. In addition, I believe that if we all spoke one language we wouldn’t be racist or judgmental towards each other. We would all feel equal because we are all human beings and belonging to a different race doesn’t necessarily mean you are better or worse than the other person. Furthermore, other than equality, it will be simpler for us to travel and ask for directions in the foreign country. For example when I traveled to Japan, I found it difficult to locate the bus I wanted to take due to the foreign language on signs and it lead to a lot of confusion. Also, it would be easier if I could communicate with the locals in the foreign countries for many reasons. For example, I went to a Japanese McDonalds in Tokyo and the worker wasn't able to understand my order unless I point at pictures or tell the them which size I wanted using my hands. This would often result in me getting a wrong order and awkward situations between the worker and I.

I have stated the advantages on how the world would be if we all spoke one language, now i’ll state the disadvantages if we all spoke one language.  
I personally think that we are all better off if we spoke our own native language, which is foreign to many people in this world. I believe that we are all unique and have our unique backgrounds, cultures and languages that make our identity. I believe that if we all spoke one language, our whole world would be boring because I love to learn about other people’s cultures and learn some of their languages. Language is what makes different cultures more interesting. If we all spoke one language, our world would lose all of it's diversity and different cultures which will leave no unique or amazing qualities. Plus, if we have a united world, it won't be interesting and we need diversity to give us a sense of individuality.

Of course, we will all have a United Utopia World if we all spoke one language and it would make things easier for all of us. However, I still believe that we would lose our individuality and unique cultures which makes our world and it’s people unique.

Target Audience in Advertisements

This sexist ad published by AXE (Mens Grooming) shows a man holding an AXE product with two women who seem very interested towards him. The advertisement's intended audience is men since AXE is a Mens Grooming company, or maybe the advisement is motivating men to use deodorant to smell good so they would attract women. This ad hints that if men use AXE products, they would attract the female gender and based on the male models face, to feel happy and complete, and that is what the product would provide. Perhaps, this advertisement is directed to men who want to have good hygiene and for men who are fans of men grooming products. But, I highly doubt that since the advertisement is less focused on the product itself but more onto what would be the outcome if one uses this product. So, the ad is really trying to make sales with the male grooming product to entice women.
