The Gender Representation in Modern-Day Advertisements

This Deodorant Advertisement illustrates the modern-day stereotype of how a woman should like, showing a thin, pale blonde girl in a dress with red lipstick on, she is a perfect example of what most white woman feels that they should look like.

Also, with the visible large white caption "Fear of being hurt," displaying to the audience that the female gender is fragile and that somehow applying this deodorant will not get you hurt.

Honestly, this advertisement is all about a woman being fearless. In this ad, we can see that the model looks confident with her big smile and having her hands up in the air, she seems to look confident and secure, and that is what most women want to feel and be, so they should go buy that deodorant she is using to feel that way.

This beer advertisement is undoubtedly targeted at a male audience. This ad shows a woman's body covered in a tight dress or clothing with the beers logo on it, I am not too sure on what the caption states but I am sure it is most likely directed at men.

Another stereotype that I notice in this ad is that men are interested in only a woman's body and not her personality or looks etc. Also, another gender representation is the woman seen as an object to just attract men.

The advertisement for the Honda Odyssey Mini-Van shows a middle-aged mom women figure cleaning the trunk of her minivan using the features that come with the Honda.

The Advertisement shows us that the Honda van comes with a vacuum to clean the trunk, they used a woman to demonstrate the use of this feature which I find sexist to an extent because females are always seen as the ones who clean and be tidy meanwhile men are the total opposite (in stereotypes).
